Darling Harbour – Sydney

If you are staying at a hotel in Darling Harbour then you are quite fortunate as it is so well located to many of Sydney’s attractions. for others, the best way to get there is by ferry from Circular Quay which is beautiful experience in itself. Then you can take a leisurely stroll and find your favourite cafe, restaurant, pub or club along the Darling Harbour waterfront. there are simply too many places to mention individually, but rest assured the harbour location certainly adds to the night’s festivities.

If gambling is your go you can head to Star City Casino which is open 24/7 and offers a wide variety of games where you can try and strike it lucky. The casino is also an entertainment precinct in itself, with bars, restaurants, show theatres and conference facilities.

Darling Harbour was originally named after the indigenous word for ‘meeting place’ and that term is just as appropriate today as it’s ever been. A convenient and beautiful location plus a huge variety of entertainment options make it a favourite spot for both locals and tourists alike.

It’s well worth basing yourself at a Darling Harbour hotel to make the most of everything this area has to offer. Not only will you get to enjoy the fantastic nightlife, but you will find plenty of attractions to keep you busy during the day as well. you will be close to museums, the Aquarium, shopping, Chinatown and more. any visitor to Sydney should include a trip to Darling Harbour on their itinerary.

Australia Vacations – Top 5 Things to Do in Sydney

There is a huge attraction that pulls travelers away from the east coast of Australia, into the vast open landscape of central Australia.  If you’re looking for Australian adventures that’s certainly the way to do it but you can’t take a vacation in the South Pacific without experience some of the most enjoyable and popular things to do in Sydney, Australia.

In no particular order, but some of our favorite things to see and do on Australia vacations:

1. the Manly Ferry to Sydney - the city is built around the majestic and breath-taking Sydney Harbor bridge standing over the harbor from city center to North Sydney.  Of course no one can forget the view of the Sydney Opera House perched near Circular Quay.  the ferry offers a fantastic view of these locations and more from the water, lasting approximately 30 minutes so there are plenty of opportunities for photos.  If you want the best view during the trip, then try to get in the front or back of the ferry when boarding.

2. Cruising Sydney Harbor - One of the better ways to experience the view of Sydney is from an organized and guided cruise through the waters around Sydney.  is it better then viewing it from the ferry?  That’s a matter of perspective.  the view is just as breathtaking from a cruise or ferry, but the cruise has more commentary on the sights and will last much longer.  That gives you the opportunity to settle in and really enjoy yourself.  the downside of course is that an excursion cruise around the Sydney Harbor will cost you a bit more.

3. Climbing the Sydney Bridge - It might seem like a steep climb but the bridge climb is a lot easier than it looks and it’s one of those things that you just can’t really do at home.  There’s some preparation beforehand as staff train you on safety.  is it worth the climb?  Absolutely – imagine overlook the Sydney Harbor from atop a bridge.  Don’t sweat the climb – you’re chained securely.  you just need to enjoy the climb and the view.

4. the Open Air Cinema – If you’re traveling through Sydney, you should put the open air cinema close to the Royal Botanical Gardens on your must-do list.  It’s one of the most expensive things to try, the hardest to get into but it’s the best of any number of outdoor cinemas in Sydney.  A drink in hand and the skyline as the backdrop for a movie.  Just remember to talk to your agent early for booking.  It’s only open during the summer and it books quickly.

5. Bondi Beach – Bondi beach is considered to be the people’s beach.  It’s home to a diverse crowd around the clock and during heavy tourism it can get pretty crowded, but part of having fun on vacation is meeting new people and enjoying the local social culture.  Nearby in the Bondi Beach Pavilion you can score drinks and, if it’s open, the Bondi Pavilion Balcony is a great place to people watch, scope the surf and relax in the sun.  If you want to get your feet wet, the surf lessons available here (recommended by the New York Times and the Guardian Sydney top Ten) will teach you how to master your first wave.

Australian vacations can be a blast, and while you’re experiencing everything the timeless continent has to offer, make sure you set aside some time to give Sydney a kiss – even if it’s a small one.

Share and enjoy:
