Sydney Harbour Bridge Fireworks

The best way to celebrate the New Years Eve fireworks display on Sydney Harbour is undoubtedly on a charter boat inside the Exclusion Zone. The zone is marked by lit yellow buoys extending from Cockatoo Island in the west to Clark Island in the east. The Exclusion Zone will be in effect from 8pm on New Year’s Eve until 12.30am on New Year’s Day. No traffic – apart from authorised vessels – will be allowed inside the Exclusion Zone and there will be no access under the Sydney Harbour Bridge during this time.

The fireworks kick off with a 9pm family show – a choreographed display with fireworks set off from barges on Sydney Harbour and lots of special pyrotechnic effects from the bridge and city buildings.

A soundtrack will be broadcast on some radio stations and full visual coverage is provided by Channel Ten television.

There will be a themed ropelight design for this year’s Harbour of Light Parade and the gorgeous colours as the vessels steam down the harbour will be a spectacular site.
