You will absolutely love Pacific Fair shopping centre in southport on the Gold Coast. You also have to check out Harbour Town, which is on the Gold Coast Highway, between Pacific Fair and Dreamworld. There is also a little shop in the main street of the gold coast called Vampires. It's a little quirky, but worth checking out, as well as Rippley's… believe it or not. The Crawn Casino in Melbourne (where I live) is pretty exciting. It's right in the heart of the City, walking distance to melbourne's ccentral business District. so if you can escape the tour for a bit, explore Eastbank and the great restaurants, cafe's and shops along the way. The Victoria Market is great to find a bargain, so don't forget to take your wallet with you :-p I'd try and ditch the cattle farm…. Cows… cow dung… smelly farm… enough said. and the Phillip Island penguins… oh so cute. It's usually at dusk when the tourist arrive for the penguins. It's a nice drive through the city traffic lol. It's a shame though that you miss out on seeing the rest of Gippsland, places like Wonthaggi are such nice little towns to visit. but anyway, you already sound like you are going to see so much. I hope you have the time of your life.
I live in Melbourne, so here are my tips;
Melbourne City Tour
Phillip Island Penguin Nature Park – a must, but in winter it will be bitterly cold, so wear lots of warm clothes – preferably in layers (eg a coat over a jumper over a t shirt over a singlet, etc)
Mt. Buller (Snow Mountain) – Pray for snow
Great Ocean Road – Beautiful any time of year
Visit of Queen Victoria Market, Bourke Street Mall, Paddy Market – a must
* Warrock Cattle Farm – Never heard of it – so do it!
* Crown Casino Complex – you don't need to go on a tour to visit Crown, it's free to look around.
I'm sure you will have lots of fun, no matter what you do!

I live in Melbourne and the places you listed there are fine – except for Paddy's Market which is in Sydney.
Never heard of Warrock Cattle Farm but it doesn't sound very exciting. Melbourne can get cold in winter so go to the casino, it's the biggest and most exciting in Australia (if you like that sort of thing).
Keep the outdoor visits for Brisbane and, to a lesser extent, Sydney (which can also get cold in winter).
Perhaps you can tell us which country you're coming from and what ages/sex the group are so we can help you some more.

18th birthday sydney harbour cruise?

Hi, my 18th birthday is next week. i want to have about 15 people go for a 4 hr night cruise on a sydney harbour cruise. not worried about any seated dining, just somethin simple like pizza and a bar. dancefloor with a dj kinda stuff.
does anyone know what price range im looking at, i really cant afford anything too great, but i doubt i can keep it below $500. if anyone can refer me to any sites or anything please let me know. thanks!
man what a spoiled brat. for my 18th we just bought a bottle of good ole mr. jose, a 24 of dos equis and had a blast. which equaled to 40 bucks more or less. jesus. 500 dollars? christ! go to graiglists. find a car for that much. and wreck it!! what a waste my god americans nowadays. or australians. people in general. god satan piss

There are several vessels offering two hour “coffee cruises” but if you’re in Sydney and can afford to splurge, one of the nicest ways to see Sydney Harbour in any season is on your own Sydney Harbour cruise boat. You can charter a vessel to take you and your friends and/or colleagues on a trip around the harbor – with or without food and drink. This will be an unforgettable experience for you. To steam under The Sydney Harbour Bridge, past the old prison island, Fort Denison, and by the famous Sydney Opera House. You can also ask the boat skipper to take you in close to some of the multimillion dollar waterfront houses on both sides of the harbor. Sydney has a rich maritime history. One of the most interesting historical events occurred 152 years ago when a clipper ship, the Dunbar, 81 days out of England, tried to enter the harbor in foul weather at night. It was wrecked on the steep cliffs between South Head and The Gap with the loss of all 121 passengers and crew save for one crewman who managed to climb up the cliff and was rescued. The Dunbar’s anchor is now on display at The Gap (a suicide spot) – just a few minutes walk from the public wharf at Watson’s Bay where there are also excellent seafood restaurants – including the celebrated seafood restaurant “Doyle’s” and a popular beach – Camp Cove.
Another popular anchorage is Store Beach on the other side of the harbor off Manly. Every day you’ll see quite a few charter boats anchored there for lunch in the lee of North Head. There’s so many things to do on Sydney Harbour. You could go to taronga Zoo if you want to see unique Australian animals like wallabies, kangaroos, koalas, platypus, dingo and wombats. Or you could get your boat skipper to take you around to the Sydney Fish Markets which is absolutely fascinating and has a magnificent selection of fresh fish and some reasonably-priced seafood restaurants. Many people have found no matter what vessel they pick for their Sydney Harbour Cruise it turns out to be one of the highlights of their Sydney visit if not one of the highlights of their life – really it’s that good. Later on this year, around Christmas and New Year, a true 125 foot “super yacht “ – the motor vessel “Platinum” will be available for charter on Sydney Harbour for the first time. Being a superyacht, a harbor cruise doesn’t come cheap. But it will surely be unforgettable. Night cruises on Sydney Harbour is something else again but only for the warmer months. And for a really unforgettable Sydney Harbour cruise, you could always get married on a luxury charter boat on the harbor.
